Between Yosemite and Tahoe in the Sierra Nevadas at 7,000, the Bear Valley Ski area has 63 trails for snowboarding with a maximum vertical of 1,900 feet spread across 1,300 acres.

On big pow days, try the West Ridge to the trees of Uptight, which is a steep, 45 degree chute), and into Strawberry Fields.

Save the last run of the day for the ungroomed Lunch Run and Home Run from the summit down into town.

Overall, Bear Valley Ski Area is the 8th most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 19 snowboarding resorts in California.
