On Vancouver Island in Comox Valley, the Mount Washington Ski Area has 42 runs open to snowboarding with a max vertical of 1657 feet. There are 9 lifts (2 high speed quads) serving over 1,200 acres. They boast record snowfalls annually with 30 feet.

The Mount Washington Alpine Resort is located 25 km west of the Comox Valley, 50 km south of Campbell River and 100 km north of Nanaimo, on Vancouver Island. To reach Mount Washington ski area from Namaimo, follow the Inland Island Highway to Exit 130 (its about a 90 minute drive).
