Southwest of Albany near Roxbury, the Plattekill Mountain ski area has 35 runs open to snowboarders with a max vertical of 1,000 feet. The area is serviced by 3 lifts.
To reach the Plattekill Mountain ski area from NYC, follow the New York State Thruway (Interstate 87) North to exit 19, Kingston. Rt. 28 West towards Pine Hill approximately 40 minutes to the Town of Arkville. Turn Right at Ski Plattekill billboard just before the railroad crossing. Follow to the end. Turn Right onto SR30 North. Go approximately 7 miles and look for sign to turn left onto Cold Spring Road, follow signs to ski center - 3 miles off SR30.

Overall, Plattekill Mountain Ski Area is the 10th most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 15 snowboarding resorts in New York. Several of the better snowboarding resorts are nearby Plattekill Mountain Ski Area including Hunter Mountain, Belleayre Mountain Ski Area and Windham Mountain Ski Area.
