Southwest of Gettysburg near Fairfield, the Liberty Mountain Resort ski area has 15 runs served by 5 lifts with a maximum vertical descent of 600 feet. For the freestyle snowboarders in your crew, Liberty Mountain has two terrain parks to session. The West Side terrain park is designed for beginners and intermediates with small rails and tabletops along with small to medium boxes. The Vertigo And Adventure Alley terrain park is best suited for advanced to expert freestylers looking for bigger hits and larger features. The best Liberty Mountain snowboarding is usually found during the months from late-January to mid-February.
To reach the snowboarding at Ski Liberty from York, follow Route 30 west to Gettysburg Square. Go 3/4 of the way around the square to Baltimore St. At the first stop light, turn right on Route 116. Liberty Mountain Resort is 8 miles on the left.
