Southeast of Albuquerque and northeast of Las Cruces, the Ski Cloudcroft ski area has 25 runs served by 3 lifts accessing a maximum descent of 750 feet. With the high base elevation of 8,400 feet, the ski area receives more snow that one would expect for its southern New Mexico location near Cloudcroft in the Sacremento Mountains.
To reach Ski Cloudcroft from Alamogordo on US54, head east on US82 for about 15 miles to the ski area. There are no base area accommodations, so you're best bet for apres ski is back in the small village of Cloudcroft (where there is a resort hotel) at Western Bar.
Overall, Ski Cloudcroft is the 1st most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 6 snowboarding resorts in New Mexico.
