Northwest of New York City and east of Stroudsburg, the Shawnee Mountain ski area has 10 runs served by 5 lifts with a maximum vertical descent of 700 feet. The ski area is known for an average annual snowfall of 50 inches. The longest run is almost one mile long. There are two good terrain parks, called Delaware Park and Country Club Park, that have tabletops, rails, boxes, rollers and a wallride. The best Shawnee Mountain snowboarding is usually found during the months from late-January to mid-February.
To reach the snowboading at Shawnee Mountain Ski Area from Philadelphia, head north on US476 to SR22 in Allentown. Head head east on SR22 to SR33 into I-80 eastbound to Exit #309 (Old Exit #52). Continue north on SR209 North and follow Shawnee Mountain ski area signs.
