East of Erie near Clymer, the Peek'n Peak ski area has 18 runs served by 4 lifts with a maximum descent of 400 feet. The ski area is spread across a wide ridge and it is ideally suited for beginner and intermediate snowboarders. As it is close to the Lake Erie shore, it does get good "lake-effect" snowfall. The best Peek N Peak snowboarding is typically found during the months of January and February.
For the freestyle snowboarders in your group, Peek'n Peak has three terrain parks to session. The 180 Park offers beginner level features with boxes and rails. The 360 Park has medium and large features including jumps, rails and boxes located under Chair 1 and Chair 2. The 540 Park has expert level turns, bumps and jumps.
To reach the snowboarding at Peek N Peak from Erie, head north on US90. Exit east on US86 (old SR17) to Exit 4. Head south to Findley Lake and follow signs for another 5 miles.
Overall, Peek N Peak Ski Area is the 11th most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 15 snowboarding resorts in New York.
