Northeast of Quebec City near Petite-Riviere-Saint-Francois, the Le Massif de Charlevoix ski area has 23 runs served by 5 lifts with a maximum vertical drop of 770m. If you are looking for some challenge, check out the LA 42 area for deep Pow stashes. There is a very large off-piste zone through dense forest that isn't patrolled. The best snowboarding at the Le Massif ski area can typically be found during the months of January and February.
To reach the snowboarding at Le Massif Ski Area, follow Route 138 (east from Quebec City / west from Baie-Saint-Paul) to Le Massif. It is located 73 km (45 miles) from Quebec City, or just 33 km (20 miles) from Mont-Sainte-Anne. There is a train from Quebec City along the St Lawrence River to the Grande-Pointe Station where there is a gondola at the station up to the ski area.
