North of Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint, the Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort has 92 runs spread over 2,900 acres that are served by nine lifts accessing a maximum vertical descent of 2,400 feet. The Schwietzer ski area is known for very dry, powder snow with an average of 300 inches annually, and for its 6 high speed quads.
There is an open boundary policy, but who needs it with glade runs like Big Timber. To find a little adventure, head up the Colburn Triple lift to the backside to explore cliffs, bowls and glades.
For the freestyle snowboarders in your crew, Schweitzer Mountain has three terrain parks to session. The terrain parks include the Stomping Grounds, the Southside Progression Park and the Terrain Garden.
For some apres ski action, try checking out Taps. When it comes to nightlife, the best chance is at Pucci's Pub.
