Northeast of Jackson, the Black Mountain is New Hampshire's oldest ski area with 40 runs over 143 acres served by 4 lifts with a max vertical drop of 1,100 feet. This is a small, family-friendly ski area. Check out the new glades, Lostbo, Black Forest and the T2 chute. The best Black Mountain snowboarding can be found during the months of January and February.
For some apres ski action at Black Mountain, check out the Lostbo Pub, which is considered the best apres ski in the Mount Washington valley. For nightlife, try the Wildcat Tavern in Jackson.
To reach the snowboarding at ski area from Boston, head north on US95 to the Spaulding Turnpike (SR16). Head north on SR16 through Conway into Jackson. Turn on SR16B through Jackson and follow signs northeast to Black Mountain Ski Area.
Overall, Black Mountain Ski Area is the 13th most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 19 snowboarding resorts in New Hampshire.
