East of Rutland and Killington, the Pico ski area has 48 trails over 200 boardable acres with a maximum vertical drop of 2,000. This small area tends to be much less crowded than its sister resort, Killington, which is 5 miles to the west. The snowboarding at Pico Mountain is located 9 miles east of Rutland on SR 4. The best Pico Mountain snowboarding can be found during the months of January and February.
