Northwest of Marquette and northeast of Houghton, the Mount Bohemia ski area has over 30 runs spread over 585 acres that are served by 2 lifts with a maximum vertical descent of 900 feet. This is a true backcountry-style ski area where there is no grooming, no beginner runs, and limited base services. There are tight glades and mini-chutes that are perfect for snowboarding. Don't worry about dropping off away from the lifts since there is a fleet of ski buses on patrol to get you back to the base area. Luckily, it get plenty of snow with an average 270 inches annually.

On a pow-day, take the Mountain Dew Lift and ride Copper Plunge or head to Extreme Backcounty. If you're looking for more action, then try the cat-ski operation at nearby Voodoo Mountain with 1,800 acres and a max vertical of 700 feet.

For apres ski, head to the nearby Seasons Restaurant. For some nightlife, head in to Houghton/Hancock to the Library Bar or to the Down Towner.

Mount Bohemia Resort is located in Upper Michigans Keweenaw Peninsula near Lac La Belle (approximately 39 miles north of Houghton/Hancock). From Hancock, head north on US41 for 35 miles to the Lac La Belle. Turn right for 4 miles to Mount Bohemia. It's about a 45 minute drive.

Overall, Mount Bohemia is the 1st most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 23 snowboarding resorts in Michigan.
