West of Manchester and east of Bennington, the Crotched Mountain Ski Area has 25 runs spread over 100 acres served by 5 lifts that provide access to a maximum descent 1,000 feet. The best Crotched Mountain snowboarding can be found during the months of January and February.
Try hiking to the true summit, which is about 200 feet higher off the Summit lift. There are three unmarked but inbounds trails. For the freestyle snowboarders in your crew, there is a terrain park with three lines from beginner to advanced.
After a long day of snowboarding at Crotched Mountain, the best bet for apres ski action is at the Onset Pub.
To reach Crotched Mountain ski area from Concord, head north on US89 to Exit #5. Head west on US202/SR9 towards Henniker and Hillsborough. Just past Hillsborough, exit off SR9 and follow US202 west (it actually seems to be heading south) for 8.1 miles passing through Antrim. Turn left heading east on SR47 for 3.4 miles to Crotched Mountain Ski Area. The Crotched Mountain Ski Area is located at 615 Francestown Road (aka SR47) in Bennington.
TIP: Pending approval, Vail Resorts has announced the purchase of Crotched Mountain, thus allowing lift access via the popular Vail Epic season pass.
Overall, Crotched Mountain Ski Area is the 15th most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 19 snowboarding resorts in New Hampshire.
