Southwest of Zakopane, the Polana Szymoszkowa Ski Area is a modern ski area targeted at beginners. There are three runs served by two lifts.
There are numerous small ski areas surrounding the town of Zakopane interconnected by taxi or irregular tourist bus. Most visitors stay in Zakopane and hit each of the areas. Overall, there are 21 runs served by 19 lifts accessing a maximum vertical of 993m. The runs are mostly beginner slopes.

To reach the snowboarding at Zakopene, fly into Krakow. There is a train from Krakow to Zakopane.
