Kranjska Gora Ski Area Snowboarding

The 4th most popular snowboarding destination in Slovenia.

Northwest of Ljubliana near Jensenice in the Julian Alps, the Kranjska Gora Ski Area has 11 runs served by 10 lifts with a maximum vertical drop of 486m. The Kranjska Gora Ski Area primarily caters to beginners with 85% easy slopes. But the slopes are well-groomed and have some high-speed lift access along with night lit slopes. The only advanced slope is the Podkoren Trail. Note, when looking at the piste map keep in mind that the summit lift (#8) only operates in the summer.

The village of Kranjska is known for its charm and almost an Austrian-feel. It is a popular destination with budget-conscious families. During the high-season, it does have a fun apres-ski scene.

The groomed slopes do not have much free-ride snowboarding action, but you can high a local guide to explore the surrounding peaks.

The main access point is the capital of Ljubljana, which is a 60 minute drive to the resort. There is also a train from Ljubljana to Jenenice, with connecting bus service to the resort.

Overall, Kranjska Gora Ski Area is the 4th most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 7 snowboarding resorts in Slovenia.
