Near Zakopane, the Gubalowka Ski Area is known for it's beginner snowboarding terrain. There are three intermediate pistes served by 3 lifts with a maximum vertical drop of 290m.
There are numerous small ski areas surrounding the town of Zakopane interconnected by taxi or irregular tourist bus. Most visitors stay in Zakopane and hit each of the areas. Overall, there are 21 runs served by 19 lifts accessing a maximum vertical of 993m. The runs are mostly beginner slopes.

To reach Zakopene, fly into Krakow. There is a train from Krakow to Zakopane.
