North of Barcelona and Les Escaldes, the Encamp ski area is a back-door lift access into the greater Grandvalira ski arena. The main lift from the village is the only way up to the ski area and must be downlifted at the end of the day. The best Encamp snowboarding is typically found during the month of January.
The Encamp ski area is part of the Grandvalira ski region where one lift pass provides access to the Soldeu ski area, the Pas de la Casa ski area, the Grau Roig ski area, the El Tarter ski area, the Canillo ski area and the Encamp ski area. Overall, the Grandvalira ski arena provides access to over 60 pistes totaling 210km that are served by 32 lifts with a maximum descent of 800m. All the ski areas are popular with beginners and families. The most challenge you will find here is to try starting at one end of the resort complex and interconnect lifts in the ski area to get from end to end and back in one day. The best apres ski can be found in Pas de la Casa, while the best nightlife can be found in Soldeu such as at Fat Alberts, the Pussycat Disco or the Aspen.
The most challenge you will find here is to try starting at one end of the resort complex. Then, use interconnect lifts in the ski area to get from end to end and back in one day.
Overall, Encamp is the 3rd most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 9 snowboarding resorts in Andorra. Several of the better snowboarding resorts are nearby Encamp including Canillo, Pas de la Casa, Soldeu, Grau Roig and El Tarter.
