South of Munich and southwest of Rosenheim, the Schliersee ski area has 32 pistes totaling 35km that are served by 19 lifts with a maximum vertical descent of 530m. This family-friendly ski region has mainly intermediate pistes and most of the lifts are drag-lifts. The Schliersee ski area is really two semi-connected ski areas: Taubenstein and Stumpfling-an-Sutten.
On powder days, definitely check out the Taubenstein area. Otherwise, when in search of some challenge, head up the Brecherapitz lift to reach long, steep glades (but note that there is a pretty big cliff in the midst of the trees!).
If you are looking for some nightlife, try starting the evening at the Braustuberl Bar and then heading to the Moon-Club.
Overall, Schliersee is the 2nd most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 10 snowboarding resorts in Germany.
