Southeast of Geneva and south of Martigny, the Champex-Lac Ski Area has 15km of pistes served by 3 lifts accessing maximum descent of 700m. Most of the pistes are ideal for intermediate snowboarders. The best Champex-Lac snowboarding is normally during the months of January through March.
Champex-Lac is part of the Ski St-Bernard ski region, which has six non-interconnected ski areas. These very small ski areas are linked by roads and buses.
• Family-Friendly Ski Area.
• Reliable Snowpack.
• Low Cost Ski Pass.
• Very Small Ski Area.
• Remote Location.
• Limited Base Services.
To reach the Champex-Lac snowboarding from Martigny, take the regional train to Orsieres Gare. There is a bus from the train station up to Champex Tele. Alternately, from Martigney, there is a train to the closer Les Valettes station, where there is a longer ski bus up to the ski area.
Overall, Champex-Lac is the 41st most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 87 snowboarding resorts in Switzerland. Several of the better snowboarding resorts are nearby Champex-Lac including La Fouly and Vicheres-Liddes.
