North of Beijing in Zhangshanying, the Shijinglong Ski Resort has seven pistes served by two lifts accessing a maximum vertical drop of 300m. While known for it's beginner and intermediate slopes, advanced snowboarders will like the challenging 28 degree chute to explore.
The Shijinglong Ski Area is located 100km north of Beijinig. To reach the Shijinglong Ski Resort from Beijing, follow the Baoling Expressway to Yanging County. Then, follow the 110 Highway to Huangbai Temple, and then follow the signs to Shijinglong Ski Resort. When snowboarding and freeriding internationally, it is important to get a travel insurance policy that covers emergency rescue, medical expense and evacuation. There are many destinations that will not initiate rescue or medical treatment without prior payment or proof of insurance. In many cases, the rescue fees, medical fees or evacuation to a reputable hospital can total tens of thousands of dollars. Plans such as GEOS SAR100 or IMG Patriot Travel Medical Insurance are well worth the per-trip cost of $130 to $200 USD.
Overall, Shijinglong Ski Resort is the 18th most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 19 snowboarding resorts in China.
