Southwest of Volgograd and Pyatigorsk, the Mt. Elbrus region has two adjacent ski areas, Elbrus and Cheget. The Mt. Elbrus area is popular with freeriders due to its long snow season and powder fields. Both ski areas are known for their steeps, poorly maintained pistes, and also their long lift lines. At Elbrus, the lift lines can exceed two hours! So you'll want to arrive very early and head off-piste if you're prepared. Keep in mind that the pistes on Elbrus are unmarked.

Overall, there are 21 pistes served by 8 lifts with a maximum vertical descent of 1,680m.

To reach the Mt. Elbrus snowboarding, fly from Moscow to Mineralnye Vody. There are local buses, shuttles and taxis from Mineralnye Vody to Terskol or Azau which are the closest towns to the base.

If you're up to the challenge, try starting up at Garabashi and heading dow to Stary Krugozur.

Overall, Mt. Elbrus is the 2nd most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 5 snowboarding resorts in Republic Of Georgia.
