Northeast of Trento and southeast of Bolzano, the San Martino di Castrozza region has 45 pistes totaling 50km served by 23 lifts with a maximum vertical descent of 900m. The pistes are spead among several small non-interconnected ski areas. There is bus service from surrounding villages and also within the town of San Martino. The best San Martino di Castrozza snowboarding can be typically found in January and February.
The San Martino di Castrozza ski area part of the Dolomiti Superski region which has over 1,200km of pistes spread over 12 valleys that served by 450 lifts. While a single skipass gives access to the Dolomiti Superski region, keep in mind that the 12 valleys are not all interconnected and you may need bus transport between valleys. Also, the snowfall in this southernly ski region is known to vary greatly season to season. Keep in mind that there is limited off-piste snowboarding in the Dolomiti Superski region -- it is prohibited in most areas and guides are highly-recommended in the others.
For the freestyle snowboarders in your crew, the San Martino di Castrozza ski area has a terrain park. It is served by the Tognola lift. The terrain park is 1km long and has 3 lines of varying levels of difficulty.
