Southeast of Zurich and northwest of Landquart, the Pizol ski area has 29 pistes totalling 43km that are served by 11 lifts accessing a maximum vertical descent of 1700m. Ideally suited for beginner and intermediate snowboarders, Pizol is also very popular with daytrippers coming down from Zurich. The best snowboarding at Pizol is normally found between the months of February and March.
For the freestyle snowboarders in your crew, Riderpark Pizol offers a small terrain park located between Furt and Gaffia. It has over 20 obstactles including boxes, rails and kicker lines accommodating a range of skill levels.
There are two base areas serving Pizol ski area. The Matells base has the Pizolbahn Bad Ragaz lift and the Wangs base has the Pizolbahn Wangs lift. If you're heading up from the Wangs base, make sure to explore the two ski routes including #33 and #34. After a long morning of snowboarding, stop by the on-mountain restaurants including Berghotel Grahe Horner and Bergrestaurant Mugghutte.

To reach Pizol by air, fly into Zurich International Airport (ZRH). Take the train through downtown Zurich and connect to either Sargans or Bad Ragaz. There are buses from Sargans to the Wang Talstation, or from Bad Ragaz to Bad Ragaz Matells Talstation.
Overall, Pizol is the 56th most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 87 snowboarding resorts in Switzerland.
