South of Zurich, the Stoos ski area has 35km of pistes served by 8 lifts that access a maximum descent of 650m. While known as a family-friendly ski area, Stoos does cater to the advanced intermediate snowboarder. The Fronalpstock lift is home to the popular red piste #2 (known as Panoramique) but be prepared for the couple of flat sections. The Klingenstock lift has several challenging off-piste lines worth exploring.

To reach Stoos by air, fly into Zurich International Airport. Then take the train through downtown and head out to Schlattli Stoosbahnen.

Note: There is a bus from Schwyz Post that will also take you to nearby Illgau where there is a gondola leading up to an interconnect with the Hoch-Ybrig ski area.

Overall, Stoos is the 48th most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 81 snowboarding resorts in Switzerland.
