North of Frankfurt and east of Dusseldorf, the Willingen ski area has 20 pistes totaling 16km that are served by 16 lifts spread over two interconnected mountains. It is part of the Wintersport Arena Sauerland which has one lift pass available that covers all the ski areas in the region totalling 90 pistes with 75 lifts.

After a long morning of snowboarding at Willingen, check out an authentic lunch on the mountain at either Kohlerhutte or Ettlesberg Hut. The best apres ski action can be found at the Seilbar located at the base of the Ettelsberg cable car.

The best way to reach the snowboading at Skigebiet Willingen is by train. There is a train station in Willingen that is a 10 minute walk from the pistes.

Overall, Willingen is the 9th most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 10 snowboarding resorts in Germany.
