North of Frankfurt and east of Dusseldorf, the Willingen ski area has 20 pistes totaling 16km that are served by 9 main lifts accessing a maximum descent of 275m. Spread over two interconnected mountains, the level of difficulty of the pistes are spread between 50% beginner to 50% intermediate. The longest piste is the Verbingungsabfahrt at 2.3km with a descent of 208m.

It is part of the Wintersport Arena Sauerland which has one lift pass available that covers all the ski areas in the region totalling 90 pistes with 75 lifts. The other nearby ski areas include Usseln and Schwalefeld.

After a long morning of snowboarding at Willingen, check out an authentic lunch on the mountain at either Kohlerhutte or Ettlesberg Hut. The best apres ski action can be found at Siggishut, Willinger Brauhaus or the Seilbar located at the base of the Ettelsberg cable car.

The best way to reach the snowboading at Skigebiet Willingen is by train. There is a train station in Willingen that is a 10 minute walk from the pistes. The closest aiport is the Paderborn Airport.
