Southeast of Salzburg, the Obertauren ski area has 60 pistes totaling 100km that are served by 26 lifts with a maximum vertical descent of 683m. It is well known for the super steep terrain located off the summit of the Gamsleiten 2 lift. It is also known for its excessive apres ski action.
To reach the snowboarding at Obertauren from Salzburg, take the train from Salzburg to the town of Radstadt. Then, you’ll need to take the Post Bus or a taxi the 20km up to Obertauren.
