South of Salzburg and north of Lienz, the Großglockner Resort has 30 pistes served by 13 lifts with a maximum vertical descent of 1,700m. The Gross Glockner Resort interconnects the Glocknerblick Ski Area above Kals am Grossglockner and the Matreier Goldried ski area above Matrei in Osttirol. The resorts are connected by the high Cimaross lift on the Kals side and the Kals II lift on the Matrei lift up at Cimaross summit (2,621m).
To reach the snowboarding at the Grossglockner Matrei-Kal ski area, the best access is either from Mittersill, Tirol, heading south to Matrei, or from Lienz in the south to either Matrei or Kals.
