East of Sion and south of Sierre, the Vercorin ski area has 10 pistes served by 6 lifts acccesing a vertical descent of 1000m. There is a convenient gondola from the Rhone valley floor up towards Vercorin. Over the past couple years, there has been some new replacement lifts, too, servicing the mostly north facing slopes. The best Vercorin snowboarding is typically found during the months of January through March.

The Vercorin ski area is part of the larger Val d'Anniviers Ski Region interconnecting by bus with Grimentz-Zinal ski area and the Chandolin-St Luc ski area. Val d'Annivers is located just west of the Röschtigraben (rosti line) in the French-speaking Romandy region (La Suisse Romande). Overall, Val d'Anniviers offers 220km of pistes served by a total of 45 lifts that semi-interconnect 12 villages.

For the freestyle snowboarders in your crew, there is a terrain park at Vercorin to session. The terrain park is accessible via the Mont Major lift.

To reach the snowboarding at Vercorin ski area by air, the closest major airports are Geneva and Bern, which are both about 2.5 hours away. There is also a small airport in Sion. To reach Vercorin by train, the near railway station is in Sierre, which is about 10km away. From Sierre, take the bus to Chalais, where there is a gondola up to the plateau near Vercorin (free ski bus from gondola top station to lifts).

Overall, Vercorin is the 73rd most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 87 snowboarding resorts in Switzerland. Several of the better snowboarding resorts are nearby Vercorin including Grimentz - Zinal and Chandolin - St Luc.
