Southwest of Innsbruck and Landeck, the Samnaun ski area has several lifts accessing big vertical. The base village of Samnaun is actually very long with only one main cable car lift heading back up the mountain. The main runs down into Samnaun enter the village on one end or the other and may necessitate taking a ski bus back to the cable car.
The Silvretta Ski Arena links Samnaun Ski Area in Switzerland with the Ischgl Ski Area in Austria. There are also some smaller bus-connected ski areas if you purchase the greater Silvretta ski pass including Galtur, Kappl and See. After all the powder is tracked out, you may want to try the newer Schmuggler Runde circults which loop around the entire ski area. The loops start and finish at either the Fimbabahn lift base station in Ischgl or the Twinliner cable-car station in Samnaun. The Gold Schmuggler Runde is a 35.7km loop with 6,463m of vertical descent. The Silver Schmuggler Runde is a 24.7km loop with 4,745m of vertical descent. The Bronze Schmuggler Runde is a 19.8km loop with 3,191m of vertical descent.

To reach the snowboarding at Samnaun from Innsbruck or Zurich, take the train to the Landeck station. There is a Post-bus from the Landeck train station to Samnanun.
