Northeast of Venice and southwest of Village in the Julian Alps, the Sella Nevea Ski Resort has 12 pistes totaling 15km that are served by 5 lifts that access a maximum vertical descent of 2000m down into Slovenia. It has interconnects with the Kanin-Blovec ski area across the Slovenian border. After crossing the high pass at 2,292m, you can descend over 1000m. There are numerous freeriding lines to check out. One of the best is the long freeriding route from 2,300m and heading down to 980m in the Krnica Valley. Just beware of the high avalanche danger.
Overall, Sella Nevea is the 42nd most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 43 snowboarding resorts in Italy.
