East of Grenoble and south of Modane near the Italian border, the Valfréjus Domaine Skiable has 16 pistes served by 10 lifts accessing a maximum vertical descent of 1175m. Known as an intermediates paradise, the ski area has 75% intermediate blue pistes. Starting from the Punta Bagna summit, there is a 12km route combining Piste #14, #15 and #16 that descends a winding route all the way to the valley floor.
To reach the snowboarding in Valfrejus by train from Paris, take the TGV to the Modane station. In Modane, take the bus up Val Frejus. Another option is the shuttle bus service offered by AltiBus.
TIP - The Ski Pass Maurienne Sans Frontiere is valid at Valfrejus along with 20 other ski areas up the Maurienne valley. Many of these ski areas are accessible via bus from Modane.
