Northeast of Villach and north of Annenheim, the Gerlitzen ski area has 25 pistes served by 10 lifts accessing a maximum vertical descent of 900m. The lifts interconnect the three villages of Annenheim, Gerlitzen and Klosterle. Most of the day trippers use the train from VIllach to Annenheim station and then use the two-way Kanzelbahn lift up to the mid-station where the pistes start. While you can snowboard off the back north side down to Klosterle, there really isn’t much there except a base restaurant and a few small parking areas.

To reach the snowboarding at Gerlitzen from Villach by train, use the Annenheim station.

Overall, Gerlitzen is the 58th most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 64 snowboarding resorts in Austria.
