South of Bern and and south of Adelboden, the Engstligenalp has 8 pistes served by 3 lifts accessing a maximum descent of 400m. The Engstligenalp ski area is well known for it good off-piste lines. Keep in mind that a cable car is required from the base area to access the pistes, which area all above the mid-station. There are no pistes leading from the mid-station down to the base area. The best snowboarding at Engstligenalp can usually be found during the months of January through March.
Engstligenalp is part of the larger Adelboden-Lenk ski region. The ski region provides a lift interconnect between the Adelboden ski area and Lenk ski area, along with bus-interconnect to four other ski areas. Overall, the shared Adelboden-Lenk ski region lift pass provides access to 200km of pistes served by 70 lifts. The six semi-interconnected ski areas include Elsigen-Metsch, Tschentenalp, Engstligenalp, Adelboden, Lenk and Betelberg.

The Engstligenalp ski area interconnects with Adelboden ski area via free ski bus into the village of Adelboden. The ski pass is valid for the entire ski region.
Overall, Engstligenalp is the 79th most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 87 snowboarding resorts in Switzerland. Several of the better snowboarding resorts are nearby Engstligenalp including Adelboden, Lenk and Elsigen-Metsch.
