Southeast of Salzburg and southwest of Liezen, the Riesneralm ski area has 15 pistes totaling 32km that are served by 3 lifts accessing a maximum descent of 850m. This family-friendly ski area has pistes ranging in difficulty from 45% beginner to 45% intermediate to 10% difficult. The best Riesneralm snowboarding can typically be found during the months of January and February.
While the pistes favor the beginner and intermediate snowboarders, there is a challenging ski touren route from Hochsitz down Hintere Morsbachalm to Vordere Morsbachalm past Morsbachwrit hutte to finish at the Panorama-6er lift bottom base station.
After a long morning of shredding, there are a few cool places to refuel up on the mountain. Make sure to check out Ski Hutte Oxewalm, Edelweiss, and the remote Morsbachwirt.

To reach the snowboarding at Riesneralm ski area by train, head to the Irdning station. There is a ski post bus three times a day from Irdning busbahnhof up to the ski area.
