East of Geneva and east of Aigle, the Col des Mosses ski area has 12 pistes served 6 drag lifts with a maximum descent of 300m. The Col de Mosses - La Lécherette ski area is best suited to beginner snowboarders but they need to be comfortable with t-bars and Poma platter drag lifts. There are some up hill traverses that snowboarders find challenging. The best Col des Mosses snowboarding is normally between the months of January to March.

Col des Mosses is located just west of the Röschtigraben (rosti line) in the French-speaking Romandy region (La Suisse Romande). The small village of Les Mosses doesn't have too much in the way of charm or many hotels. The village and ski area are usually quite crowded on the weekends with day-trippers driving up from the cities and is normally pretty empty on the weekdays. There are some long lift lines. Typically, the low elevation ski area has a snowpack that becomes icy hardpacked quickly following the last snow storm. It is very icy in the mornings before the sun softens the snowpack.

The Col des Mosses - La Lécherette ski area is semi-interconnected by free ski bus to the small nearby ski areas of Leysin. This free ski bus is only from the remote Leysin lift base station of Solepraz. It operates every 30 minutes from Soloeprax to Les Mosses lift base station for Les Parchets and is about a 15 minute ride. When there is avalanche danger, this free ski bus service can be suspended. The Col des Mosses lift pass is accepted within Les Mosses and La Lécherette. The combined Leysin-Les Mosses-La Lécherette ski region has a total of 100km of pistes.

Pros
• Reliable snowpack.
• Family-friendly ski area.

Cons
• Very small ski area.
• Limited vertical descent.
• Numerous drag lifts.
• Limited base area services.

To reach the snowboarding at Col des Mosses from Geneva Airport, take the train to the Aigle train station. Then, change to the smaller train line in Aigle up to Le Sepey (there may be a replacement bus service). In Le Sepey, change to a local bus heading up the final 5km to the Col des Mosses stop. If you are planning to drive up on a weekend, keep in mind that it is very crowded with cars and there is very limited parking options so arrive very early.

Overall, Col des Mosses is the 84th most popular snowboard & freeride destination of all 87 snowboarding resorts in Switzerland.
